Youth Work Job - East Taieri
East Taieri Presbyterian Church & The Saddle Hill Foundation Trust are looking for a new full-time youth worker to join their team.
The Saddle Hill Foundation Trust (SHFT) was established by East Taieri Church (Mosgiel) Dunedin to be the resourcing, funding and visioning body for its community and youth work. SHFT is seeking a passionate, energetic person to be a part of our supportive Youth Team working in church and community.
Already we impact a large number of young people every week through a vibrant range of church and community-based programmes. If you are ‘the one’, you will work alongside paid staff and volunteers, leading programmes, providing pastoral care and mentoring, developing leaders, and offering chaplaincy in Taieri College.
You will work out of ‘the Hub’ community facility which provides generous office, meeting, recreation, and storage areas. Technology and other equipment are readily accessible.
Key responsibilities of this role include: facilitating adventure-based youth programmes; teaching life skills and Christian discipleship, mentoring church and community youth; developing new initiatives and, with the SHFT Executive Officer, working on responses to issues affecting youth in the Mosgiel community.
This is a full-time position with scope to adapt the job description to fit the skills and abilities of the successful applicant.
This job would suit someone with a youth work or relevant qualification, who has a love for young people, and sees God’s heart for them and the wider community. If this sounds like you and you want a new challenge with a well experienced team, we’d be keen to hear from you.
