Pukerau Easter Camp - AMAZING!
75 Years On And Still Going Strong!
Pukerau Easter Camp is always special. But this year's Easter Camp, held out at Camp Columba was extra special. Pukerau Christian Camps celebrated 75 years of running Easter Camp in the Mataura region, sixty of which have been run out at Camp Columba. With all that experience to draw on, Pukerau Easter Camp is always fun, always life changing and always a little bit crazy.
This year they had Fergus Turnbull from Christchurch come and speak. He was a dynamic speaker and engaged well with the youth, both from the pulpit and throughout all aspects of camp. A great team of leaders from local churches and some who returned from out of town to lead at camp, journeyed alongside the young people. They were there to help the young people understand the gospel and the message of Easter, as well as passing on some legendary Easter Camp pranking tips.
Leah, who was the director of this years camp said “I felt leading up to camp a huge expectancy for God to move because it was the 75th. He definitely did! Every worship session campers were praying and genuinely worshiping God! People left their comfort zones and worshiped God freely!” Michaela, who traveled back from Dunedin just to help out at camp, says “camp is always amazing, but this year was different. The lines of communication were well and truly open. Between leaders, campers, and God and we had one of the most memorable camps ever because of it. I left camp feeling refreshed, energised, and excited to live for God!”
Pukerau Easter Camp is a special camp. This year seemed extra special. God turned up and met a group of expectant young people. We are already excited for Easter Camp next year and what for what God is going to do in and through the lives of these young people over the next 12 months.
