New Regional Alpha Support
Kia ora everyone!
My name is Matt Stevenson and I am the new Alpha NZ Relationship Development Coordinator for the Otago/Southland region. I took over the role from Mary Somerville near the end of last year and have been spending that time since familiarizing myself with the different Alpha resources.
Along with Alpha - My wife Jess and I manage a campsite on the outskirts of Mosgiel, Dunedin called Tirohanga. We have two young boys (pictured above) – Noah (3) and George (1). Before moving down south 4 years ago both Jess and I were youthworkers in Christchurch – Heavily involved in community youth work and youth ministry in the city.
I am passionate about seeing the church flourish and believe Alpha can be a great resource for any church wanting to welcome new comers to faith. Alpha is a great tool for sparking discussion, establishing relationships as well as deepening our understanding of faith and what it means to follow Jesus.
Alpha also offers parenting courses, marriage courses, prayer courses and other tools to help equip the church.
I am excited by what God is doing in the Church’s of Otago/Southland this year and would be happy to assist if Alpha is something that may interest your congregation.
