Additional Locations
The congregation has always had many members involved in all aspects of the life of both townships, and this continues to the present day.
Our parish encompasses both Karitane and Waikouaiti townships and outlying areas. The original presbyterian church sited in Kildare Street, Waikouaiti in 1861 is still used as a meeting place for many activities, including worship. The church in Stornaway Street, Karitane is another long standing building and is still regularly used for worship for the whole congregation.
The parish is very community orientated and inclusive, with members of the congregation having many points of contact with the wider community of both Karitane and Waikouaiti.
The area is well provided for with clubs, organisations and church members. Our members are involved in many such organisations and sports, such as bowls and petanque, crafts, Spinners and Weavers Group, Garden Club, music and drama and walking groups.
The Waikouaiti/Karitane Parish meet the first and third Sunday at Karitane. Every second Sunday the Parish share a service with their Anglican friends at St John's Church in Waikouaiti. The fourth Sunday is at Waikouaiti.
