Induction Service for the Rev Jono Ryan to The Seedling

The Seedling: Presbyterian Community in South Dunedin
This is the new name for the new ministry established by Presbytery in conjunction with the Knox Centre and Presbyterian Support Otago.
The Book of Order allows Presbyteries to recognise new forms of mission or ministry
{ reg 8.4 (1) p for those who like the details }.
Our Presbytery has recognised “The Seedling: Presbyterian Community in South Dunedin” as a new form of mission and ministry, appointed an oversight committee and appointed the Rev Jono Ryan as the minister ¾ time for 3 years. It is still early in its establishment phase.
Funding has been provided by a grant from Synod, and support from the Dunedin South Presbyterian Parish, and other parish and personal donations.
Gabe Hawker, a ministry Intern, has also begun working part-time in the Seedling.
A community house has been established where young people involved in ‘The Seedling’ live
Regular worship has been commenced along with networking within the wider South Dunedin community.

The hall at The Armitage (Pact)
190 King Edward St. (next to the NZ Post shop)
South Dunedin
Please note that on the night entrance to the hall will be from the Rankeilor St.
at the side of the building (i.e. not from King Edward St.)
There are a few rooms adjoining the main hall area, one will be used for the Presbytery meeting prior to the service. Someone will direct Presbytery members to the appropriate room on the night.
